Cristy has been an educator since she was 15 years old. She began with teaching swimming lessons at the Civic Center. She continued this for 12 years. Then she worked for the American Red Cross of Sweetwater County and taught a variety of safety courses including CPR, first aid, disaster preparedness, water safety instructor, and lifeguard training. This work continued for four years. In 2000, Cristy returned to school for elementary education.
